Native to Zimbabwe and the southern region of the African continent, the Manketti tree is also known as the Mongongo tree. A member of the Euphorbiaceae plant family, the Manketti tree is a tall tree that reaches heights up to 65 feet (20 meters). Its distinctive features include hand-shaped leaves and egg-shaped, edible nuts that house highly nutritive oil. The nuts have been traditionally utilized to produce oil for use in skin care applications and in cooking for their nutritive benefits.
